Meet the Tiger Leader Mentor

Cartoon CommissionerAppointed in January of 2018, Frank Matthews is the Scouter assigned to help Lion (Kindergarten) and Tiger (First Grade) Leaders as they start their journey into the Scouting program.

Frank is assigned to this important volunteer duty by the Shawnee Trails District Commissioner. Frank’s formal, official title, is Assistant District Commissioner for Tiger and Lion Leader Mentors. Shawnee Trails District of the Boy Scouts of America follows the borders of the Shawnee Mission School District.

Frank is a Vietnam Veteran and a successful Cubmaster. He has completed the practical portion of Wood Badge Training and he is now completing his five “ticket items” to successfully contribute his time and talent to the betterment of Scouting in Kansas City. One of Frank’s passions and commitments to Scouting is to make sure the youngest Scouts in our program have leaders who are trained and prepared to be successful in delivering the Promise of Scouting to our newest youth.

Frank is proceeded in this position by Mark Ford and R.J. Wilson. The Heart of America Volunteer who provides guidance to Tiger and Lion Leader Mentors is Christy Allen.
