Remember the Tigers

February, the time of year when Blue and Gold banquets occur. Let’s remember our littlest Scouts and make sure they have a role to play in the ceremonies.

Recognition and fun are important parts of the Cub Scouting program. Parents seeing the look on the faces of their children as the beam with pride after a public recognition is a memory maker. This memory maker keeps parents, and their children, coming back to Scouting.

Take a minute if you can, and make recognition of your new Bobcats an important piece of your Blue and Gold. The Cub Master giving a hearty hand shake to each one of them and a kind word about next year can make all the difference in retaining and promoting these young Scouts. The time you take to do so is important and valuable and your program will be stronger for it.

Gaining volunteers

You’re the Tiger Leader. You took on the responsibility to help your son. You should be commended for stepping up. Thank you for doing this job! It is good for your son, it is good for Scouting and, though it may not always seem like it, it is good for you.

How Does Cub Scouts Work?

Cub ScoutsThe Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is a complex organization that requires organizational charts and committees and sub-committees and layers upon layers of bureaucracy to assure that the Scouting program is carried out to the benefit of the youth we serve. It can make you dizzy just thinking about it.

What does that mean to you? Not a dang thing. BUT…when you need help, you’ll find that it is within your reach.

You, the Tiger/Lion Den Leader, and all parents of First Graders and Kindergarteners, may be the most important leaders in all of scouting. Thank you for your leadership and for investing your time in the development of your child and the Boy Scout program.

We will attempt to use this website as a gathering place for disseminating information, sharing ideas and learning from one another to keep the Tiger/Lion program fun for our youth.
